Classic Cantonese Songs
Donnie Yen's latest movie Legend of the Fist - Return of Chen Zhen, reminds me some of the classic Cantonese songs from Hong Kong that had inspired at least a generation of Chinese.

Paula Tsui 徐小凤
On the flight back to Bangkok, I chanced upon a very old album by Paula Tsui 徐小凤, one of the evergreen Cantonese pop singer. Her classic songs were once inspirations to the young yours faithly. Her songs are not just simple songs, but filled with wisdom of life. Even today, after more than 2 decades, her songs are still so inspiring.
Good things must share. Here are some of her classic songs.
Every Step 每一步
随 想 曲
順流逆流
風雨同路
长城
人生滿希望
重逢

Kitaro "Love & Peace" World Tour 2010
Attended Kitaro's "Love & Peace" World Tour 2010 concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium on 9 Mar. I was first introduced to his music by YK back in my university days. His most famous pieces are from his Silk Road series. A Japanese, spending time in China and got inspired for great music. It itself is very impressive.
The concert started at 8.15pm, lasted about 2 hours and 20 mins, with 20 mins recess after 1 hour of performance. It was the very first time I listened to Kitaro's music live. My personal favorites are his keyboard & flute works, but his drums are not very good, or I don't know whether it was because the drum team is actually a local Singapore Taigu group, not the real Japanese pros.
His music has this magic power to bring you to paradise, make your soul free from your body, your mind jumps, dances freely in an unlimited universe, calms the worrying, anxious hearts.
Jane Zhang (张靓颖) from China's 'Super Female Vocal' 超级女声 made a special guest appearance and sang a song composed by Kitaro - Impressions of the West Lake (西湖印象). Her voice is beautiful, just like her looks. Below is a YouTube video of Jane Zhang singing the same song at Kitaro's concert in Tokyo.
The concert ended with Kitaro's most famous piece - Matsuri (Enshrining).
A great night with great music!

The Little Tiger Band 小虎队2010年
Members of the long disbanded The Little Tiger Band (小虎队), a boy band popular in the last decade of the last century, got the chance to come together again in the celebration of the Year of the Tiger on Chinese Central TV's new year's eve program.
They were members of the boy band, but now all the little tigers have become mature tigers. Out of the 3 members, Chen Zhi-peng (陈志朋) is almost unknown to the younger generation, no trace of him in the entertainment industry. Wu Qi-long (吴奇隆) came out in newspaper headlines only for his unsuccessful marriage and a painful divorce. The only one who is still well-known and popular is Su You-peng (苏有朋). He starred in the most popular Qiong Yao TV drama Huan Zhu Ge-ge (还珠格格). He is still active in many mainland Chinese TV dramas and motion pictures.
Their performance on stage was kind of heart-breaking. 30 something middle-aged men were still trying to act if they were teenagers. Haiz...
And let's take a look at their old videos of the same song.
